Thanksgiving may be past, the turkey consumed, and the family gone home, but we still have much to be thankful for. Sure, November 25 may be the day we celebrate it with those we love, but thanksgiving should really be a year long celebration. So, in retrospect, here are a few things I am most thankful for in 2005:

1. - Another calendar year of life.
2. - My faith and the rock it has been for me.
3. - A roof over my head. Food in my kitchen.
4. - A creative mind and the means to use it daily.
5. - People who care about me. People I care about.
6. - A summer and fall packed full of theatre.
7. - The ability to share my ups and downs with you on this blog.
8. - The plentiful opportunities to learn and grow.

Granted, this is just a partial list, but the meaning remains the same. Life is full of thanksgiving. And Opportunities surround us daily. Never forget the little things that define you. Sometimes they are far more important than we think.

"Salting the Earth"

Salt is heavy. The winter rock salt that is. Today I helped my landlord set out barrels of it at one of the other apartments he owns. And, quite honestly, it was a lot of "grunt work". But, it's also a sure sign that winter is upon us. When those big blue barrels and green tupperware tubs start to show up near your house, break out the snow shovels and the warm parkas. Cause, let me tell ya, around here, you're gonna need 'em!

Yep. First snowfall of the season. It was just a light dusting of flurries, but, still proof that winter is upon us. Pretty soon the white will be here to stay. Rake those leaves while you still can... Old Man Winter's already knocking on the door.

"That's a wrap!"

And just like that, our run of "A Murder Is Announced" is complete. The curtain has closed, the set it coming down, and all the actors have gone home. It's been a great four-week run, not to mention the month of rehearsals before that! Nineteen performances, 5000 audience members, two newspaper reviews, a television spot, and over a dozen British accents. Good times. Good times.

So, what's next? Well, honestly, a break for one. This was my third consecutive stage show this summer/fall. In other words, I've been in the theatre for about five months straight! I need a little time to work on other projects for a bit -- namely some notable artwork. But, on the theatre front, there are two notable stage productions coming up in the area that I'm interested in. Both are casting in the begining of December. So, a few weeks off, and than I'm back at it again. I think that should be enough time to get caught up on things outside the theatre. Just enough time for me to start missing it again. :)

Ah, yes, the life of an actor. Always exciting. Rarely something I could do without. So, here's to what's just around the corner... may it be as enjoyable as these last few months!
