A Mockingbird In
the summer of 1935, a young girl named Scout -- in a quiet Alabama town
--
is about to experience dramatic events that will affect the rest of her
life.
She and her brother, Jem, are being raised by their widowed father,
Atticus,
a lawyer who has chosen to defend a young "Negro man" wrongfully
accused
of a serious crime -- raping a white woman. As Atticus fights his
personal
and legal battles, Scout and Jem learn of life and why "it's a sin to
kill
a mockingbird." I played the
role of one of the more vocal inhabitants of that southern town -- a
racist farmer.
