So what do I listen to when I kick back and relax?.... Below are some of my favorite musical artists.
Country Music
- Montgomery Gentry -- "songs that strip life to
the marrow," that speak of passion, loss, pride and heartache.
- Andy
Griggs -- A variety of country from soulful ballads to
"firecracker country rockers".
- Anthony
Smith -- A mix of retro country, the funk of R&B, the
raw edge of rock, and the blues.
- Blake Shelton
-- Generally ballads and country rock.
- Tim McGraw
-- One of the biggest names in country music.
- Billy Ray Cyrus
-- Country singer and actor. Ballads and country rock.
- Big and Rich
-- Rockin' country music without limits!
- Chris Cagle -- "No guts, no glory"
blue-collar country rock, soulful ballads, and American pride music.
- Toby Keith -- Chart-topping outspoken
country favorite.
80's Rock/ Pop
- Roxette - An 80's classic. One of many personal
favorites.
Christian Contemporary
- Michael
W. Smith - A well-known name in Christian Contemp. Very
moving lyrics.
- Michael
Card - ...Wonderful story songs'... and an excellent
message every time.
- Rebecca
St. James - Much like the female version of Michael W.
Smith to Christian Contemp.
- Kendall
Payne - I like a number of her lyrics... very
thought-provoking.
Celtic Music
- Gaelic
Storm - Yes, this is the band featured in the movie
"Titanic".
- Riverdance
- Foot-stopping
all the way... Makes me want to get up and dance!
- Leahy
- Celtic
meets country fiddle, yet classy.... best of both worlds.
Other Music
- Manheim Steamroller - A classic, pure
and simple.
- Evanescence - Hard rock meets the
classical solo voice of Amy Lee. Beautiful.
- Tonic
Sol Fa - An acapella group that is gaining quite a
following.
- Vangelis
- Classic '80's synthesized music. Famous from quite a few film
soundtracks.
- James
Darren - Classic lounge/big band music. Known also as Vic
Fontaine on Star Trek: DS9.
Favorite Film Composers
- James
Horner - THE film composer name in Hollywood.
- John
Williams - One, if not, the best. Composer of Star Wars
just to name one.
- Randy
Edelman - I think his "Gettysburg" soundtrack sticks out
the most.
- Danny Elfman - Composer of "MiB", as
well as the "Simpsons" theme.
- Howard
Shore - Composer of the "Lord of the Rings" soundtracks.
- Jerry Goldsmith - The late and great
film composer, known most readily for his work for Star Trek.
- Klaus Badelt - I am particularly fond of
his 2003 score for "The Pirates of the Caribbean.
